Our September 11th day of service was wildly successful. In the days leading up to the event, we were so swamped with preparations that I didn’t have a chance to share something important.
On September 8th, I had my first warm, fuzzy, “I helped make that happen” moment when FemCity Raleigh shared photos of their group’s volunteer project, which we helped put together earlier in the summer. Here’s the photo that gave me the warm fuzzies:
Here’s what they had to say about their experience:
FemCity Raleigh greatly appreciates Activate Good’s efforts in finding a fun volunteer opportunity for our group. Working on the farm of the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle brought together professional women from FemCity Raleigh and our sister Femfessionals chapter, FemCity Research Triangle Park, to socialize, build friendships and to give back to our community. Activate Good made it easy for us to plan this activity, and the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle made it an educational and fun experience that we will most definitely share with friends and colleagues. Everyone had a great time, even while scooping poop out of the chicken coop!
Groups often come to us for help connecting them with service projects, so we are prioritizing website features that enable people to volunteer together. If you can’t find a project on our site, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us anyway. We take so much pleasure in bringing people together to do great things.
Thanks to FemCity Raleigh for sharing this with us, and to the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle for making volunteerism so fun!
