Partnering with Triangle Nonprofits and Schools

At Activate Good, we aim to make volunteering and civic participation easy and accessible for everyone — and Triangle area nonprofit, schools, and other organizations are our critical partners to achieve this mission!

Each year, we mobilize thousands of individuals and groups, youth and families, and businesses of all sizes to take volunteer action to meet critical community needs identified by Community Partners across local issues including food insecurity, homelessness, education, and more.

If you represent a Triangle nonprofit or school that works with volunteers to tackle local issues, we may be able to help you boost your volunteer capacity. Here are 3 reasons to apply to become an Activate Good Community Partner:

1. Volunteer recruitment and support services

Activate Good helps connect volunteers to fulfill volunteer needs with hundreds of Community Partners around the Triangle. We share your opportunities through our volunteer opportunity database, increase visibility by showcasing select needs via our email list (reaching over 35,000 potential volunteers!), share with our contacts at local institutions and businesses, and highlight them on our social media channels.

2. Free Volunteer Management software

All Community Partners get a free version of Golden after they are onboarded officially with Activate Good. Golden is our advanced volunteer management software complete with insights, automations, and registration options. Some of the super-cool features you get include:

  • Public or private volunteer postings! Your public postings get amplified automatically to Activate Good’s public-facing database, so community members browsing can find it. Private postings provide you a link to share with your own private groups or target audience.
  • Automatic volunteer reminders go out before each volunteer shift!
  • An on site check-in kiosk
  • Optional background check requirements, with the ability to pass costs to volunteers or absorb them yourself
  • Customizable questions, so you can gather more data about registrants
  • Insights over time about sign ups and cancellations.
  • A lot more!

What our other Community Partners are saying about Golden

“We use the Golden platform to manage our virtual volunteers through Activate Good. It makes it incredibly easy for us to post our needs and contact those who sign up through the platform. We love that volunteers can log their own hours or completed projects (completed cards in our case), and we have reached so many wonderful volunteers by being able to use the Golden platform.”

Amy Steeves

Founder, Amy’s Rays of Sunshine

“Since making the shift to Golden, I’ve felt at ease knowing that volunteers are getting all of their information in a clean and timely manner! My favorite features have been the check-in kiosk and the ability to create custom sign up links for our companies and organizations.”

Emily Weidman

Manager of Volunteer Engagement, A Place at the Table

“The Great Raleigh Cleanup made the switch from Meetup.com to Activate Good’s network on the Golden platform a few months ago. Since moving to Golden, we have experienced a waitlist for our opportunities. Our organization has also found success in utilizing the various communication and insights features that Golden offers. It is a great volunteer management platform that has helped us to streamline our tracking processes.”

Preston Ross III

Founder and Executive Director, The Great Raleigh Cleanup

“Golden has helped WakeEd Partnership streamline volunteer efforts for the Tools4Schools and Partners Read initiatives. With such a large network of community members, we needed a system that allowed us to track volunteer engagement, communicate with volunteers, and was easy to access. Through the use of Activate Good and Golden, our volunteer engagement has increased tenfold (800+ volunteers since February 2023). We are delighted with this platform, and we highly recommend it to any organization seeking to elevate and streamline their volunteer engagement platform.”

3. Days of Service and special projects

Activate Good plans large-scale community Days of Service throughout the year, including MLK Day of Service / Dignity Week, National Volunteer Week in April, the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance, and Family Volunteer Day in November. We invite our community partners to amplify their reach and meet new volunteers by submitting volunteer needs and projects for these events. Learn more about these Days of Service here.

We also have occasional opportunities to partner with local businesses to plan special projects, such as community transformation projects (think: School make-overs!), skills-based volunteer sessions, and more. Community Partners are first on our list to get invitations to partner with us on these special initiatives!
