The Youth Education Program at the Durham Literacy Center is looking for part-time volunteers to work one-on-one with teens and young adults who are working toward taking their GED tests.
Receive donations, assist with moving furniture out on to the sales floor, help customers load heavier/larger purchases as needed. Mon: 10am-1pm Tues-Sat:: 10am-5pm Wed: 10am-8pm

The Durham Literacy Center is looking for tutors to work one-on-one with adult learners preparing for GED tests! Tutor in one or more subjects (Reading/Writing, Social Studies, Science, or Math). Morning and evening schedules are available.
You can empower students to gain a love and understanding of reading and comprehension using the HELPS fluency intervention. We are seeking for volunteers in junior/senior year of high school all the way up to retirees! This is a great way for students to complete their service/contact hours.
Super Study is an intensive, curriculum-based program designed to increase reading levels of our Boys & Girls Club members.
If you can read this, you can help share the gift of literacy with an adult learner! Each tutor meets with a student for 90 minutes twice weekly for 6 months or longer. Training is provided. No prior experience needed.
