STEM professionals who are interested in mentoring can volunteer as Speed Mentors! Speed mentoring is an hour-long session where you get to interact with a multitude of students of diverse backgrounds!
Volunteers are needed to staff an Open House event March 25th - April 9th. Tours are Wednesday - Saturday 10am - 5pm and Sunday 12am - 5pm. Each day will require two 2 shifts (about 3 hrs) of 13 people each.
Paths to the Park allows students to see the breadth of STEM opportunities available in both the RTP and in the world.
Opportunity includes helping student teams develop their business CASH FLOW for their concept; write and create their business plan display for their school EXPO on March 24; judge semi-finals on March 24 or judge finals Shark Tank on April 5.
Tutors meet one-on-one with a student every week to enhance the student’s academic skills and promote productive academic habits. Providing help with homework and assisting with test preparation, tutors encourage student to become independent learners.
Help build a Pond Bridge for the community garden. This will be a featured structure of the farm that the entire community can enjoy!
Composting worms are some of the hardest working little helpers in the garden. Worm compost is the soil they produce and it is so rich in nutrients it can often help plants grow in twice the time and resistant to many diseases. You can help build a worm nursery!
