About the Pro Heroes Initiative

The History of Activate Good’s Pro Heroes initiative

Pro Heroes first began in 2013 as a month-long pilot initiative to complete pro bono volunteer projects benefiting chosen nonprofit partners and to highlight professionals who use their skills to volunteer. In 2013, Pro Heroes resulted in over $67,000 worth of donated professional services through the completion of 15 pro bono projects impacting Triangle area causes.

Special thanks to this wonderful team of local professionals for helping put together the 2013 Pro Heroes pilot!

In 2014, the program expanded beyond the pilot, allowing professionals to complete larger projects, in a 4 month time span, between January and April. This resulted in a total value of over $105,000 worth of donated professional services to participating causes. Participating in Pro Heroes 2016

Triangle-area professionals are invited to check out and apply for a pro bono project of their choice as individuals or as a team. Activate Good will work with these professionals or teams of professionals to ensure they are a good match for the project for which they’ve applied.

Professionals aim to complete projects by the end of April 2016. On Tuesday, May 10, 2016, nonprofit partners and professionals will get together to celebrate their impacts!
