Graphic Design for Learning Together

Learning-Together-w:slogan-2c

The Cause

Learning Together’s mission is to meet the developmental, educational, and health needs of young children of all abilities.  We believe in pursuing and nurturing inclusion, diversity, integrity, quality, interdependency, and innovation in our daily operations. Through this pursuit, Learning Together’s vision is to create a Community of Promise – where children of all abilities are able to reach their full potential with the support of their community and families.

The Challenge

We are a smaller nonprofit, and we use several events throughout the year to raise much-needed funds for the kids and families we serve. We have a great, unique event that can be marketed better and can reach a bigger audience. We would like a professional update to our event branding so that we can make this great event idea make an even bigger financial impact towards our mission. The event is a rock, paper, scissors tournament, which is unique in the Triangle (possibly the state), and is extremely popular with previous attendees. This is our fifth year, and while it has grown each year, it is still struggling with gaining a wide audience, and it needs to be more clear through its branding and presentation that it is for adults, not kids.

The Project

Estimated Volunteer Time (Now – April 30):

24-34 hours

See Scope of Work / Project Steps Show

End Result

The project will result in the following deliverables:

  • An updated event logo
  • A set of 5 to 10 graphic elements (clip art, buttons, etc.) for use on the organization’s event website or other materials. May include the creation of up to 2 online or print ads, if needed
  • Logo and graphic elements submitted to the organization in vector and ready-to-use online formats.

Impact

This project will have a significant impact on our ability to serve the community. The project will raise our profile in the Triangle among both donors and families in need of early childhood services, which would give us more stability for our existing programs and families. It will make our employees more effective in their time management, and it will help provide a fun, novel, and unique event to the Raleigh area.

Graphic Design for the National Inclusion Project

National Inclusion Project

The Cause

The National Inclusion Project serves to bridge the gap that exists between young people with disabilities and the world around them. We partner with communities and out-of-school-time programs (YMCAs, Boys & Girls Clubs, Kid’s Museums, Community Centers, Zoos, etc) to enable them to include children with disabilities in ALL of their activities. We work every day to make the inclusion of children with disabilities a reality because no child should sit on the sidelines.

The Challenge

In January 2015, we strategically solidified our organization’s case statement, quantified our impact and started pulling together all of our results and information in order to go after new grants, sponsors and donors. While this is great information, much of it is not in our 4-year old brochure/booklet. Not only is the brochure out of date, but the current format is way too long and very expensive to mail. We need a graphic designer to create a concise, informative, and compelling brochure and infographic that we can use to promote our cause.

End Result

The project will result in the following deliverables:

  • An organization brochure in print ready and online formats, including the editable file for future changes /revisions to be made by the organization
  • Infographic highlighting the organization’s results and impacts in print ready and online formats

Impact

This project will have a significant impact on our ability to serve the community! This project will be of great help in getting the word out about the importance of inclusion and the benefits of partnering with the National Inclusion Project. We hope this will in turn garner more interest and more dollars so that we can serve more organizations and families in the future.
