Activate Good’s 2013 Greatest Hits

In 2013, Activate Good had the chance to help great causes, meet great people, and have a great time doing it! Check out some of this year’s greatest hits: 1. In January we dined with folks from all walks of life, discussing issues our community faces and ways we can all be part of the solution at our 3rd annual Martin Luther King Jr. Sunday Supper. 2. The members of our inaugural Triangle Corporate Volunteer Council convened for the first time. And: Get involved in Pro Heroes 2014!). 4. In the summer, we answered the challenge to match funds granted by the AJ Fletcher Foundation by launching a contest to identify a fresh-faced mascot to represent Activate Good in 2013! Dog and gorilla battled it out for a grueling month. In the end, donors picked their favorite candidate, Mr. Bongo. 5. On September 11, we mobilized and ecstatically joined nearly 1500 locals to volunteer at over 40 projects around the Triangle, including an evening commemoration and concert at Red Hat Amphitheater, and were reminded that doing good can unite a community. 6. We asked the city to work with us to show how vital volunteerism is for Raleigh....
