Uriah King Helps Oakwood Cemetery With Strategic Planning

Historic Oakwood Cemetery is a nonprofit cemetery dedicated to serving families first and foremost when they need it most, but to also provide outdoor museum educational experiences for locals and visitors alike. Historic Oakwood Cemetery has greatly expanded their presence in the community during the past couple of years and is now turning its attention to strategically handling this increased visibility. That’s where Uriah King came in. About Pro Hero, Uriah King Uriah King is a local young nonprofit professional employed by day at Self-Help Credit Union, and is no stranger to helping nonprofits plan for their future. Using his skills, Uriah is helping develop a strategic plan that will enable Historic Oakwood Cemetery to address its growth and continue to increase community awareness and public involvement with the organization. Robin Simonton, Executive Director of Historic Oakwood Cemetery, knows the value of planning ahead for success in the future and present: Oakwood Cemetery is fortunate to have [Uriah] develop a Strategic Plan for the Cemetery. Looking forward 50 to 100 years,  I am certain this exercise will greatly benefit future boards. Aligning Mission & Methods for Triangle Nonprofits Uriah’s passion for strategic planning makes this project a great match: I am honored and humbled to help facilitate a renewed strategic vision for the Historic Oakwood Cemetery.  The cemetery well represents the varied and rich history of not only Raleigh, but all of North Carolina.
