Virginia Fitt “Super Strategist” Contributes Inspiration

By day, Virginia Fitt is an attorney, but she also has a wide range of experience working with nonprofits. Most recently, she was elected as a board member of Ashraya Initiative for Children, where she developed an annual fundraising plan for the organization. Seeking to reconnect with the community after recently re-locating back to North Carolina (where she was born and raised), Fitt is actually working on two projects for Pro Heroes, and in this project, she stars as the “Super Strategist” for Friends of Wake County Guardian ad Litem! Friends of Wake County Guardian ad Litem Friends of Wake County Guardian ad Litem enhance the lives at at-risk children and their caregivers through programs that support their physical, educational, and emotional wellbeing and also provides support for the Wake CountyGuardian ad Litem Program. The Friends provide unmet, basic emergency needs for identified families as well as enrichment opportunity funds for children. Children in foster care and out-of-home kinship placements and families working hard to break the poverty cycle make up their target population. Serving Wake County Children in Need Growing needs and a shoestring budget led the Friends to the Pro Heroes project! Fitt felt particularly drawn to working with Friends of Wake County Guardian ad Litem because of her mother’s work as a school social work and her father’s work as a district court judge. As an attorney herself, she knows the importance of the program’s work of serving vulnerable children.
