Activate Good cordially invites you to honor Martin Luther King Jr. weekend with us by attending our 2nd annual Sunday Supper at 5:00 PM on Sunday, January 15 at Joel Lane’s Public House in downtown Raleigh! You’ll share a meal with community members, volunteers, and participating nonprofits to discuss issues in our community and how you can be a part of solving them. The cost of this event is $10 which includes a meal and non-alcoholic beverage. Space is limited, so RSVP to join us for supper.
Sunday Suppers are part of a national effort by the Points of Light Institute that will be taking place all across the country on Sunday, January 15. Dr. King envisioned a “beloved community” where brotherhood is a reality that does not allow poverty, hunger and homelessness to exist. Sunday Suppers will capture this spirit by bringing together citizens from all walks of life to build community over dinner.
This year Activate Good welcomes several nonprofits partners to lead the dinner discussions, including but not limited to the Alternating Hemiplegia of Childhood Foundation, Transforming Hope Ministries, Band Together, Safe Haven for Cats, StepUp Ministry, Track My Steps, Rebuilding Together of the Triangle, and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC.
Inspired to take action? Before, during, and after the Sunday Supper, community members are also invited to join Activate Good’s online volunteer community, where they can sign up to volunteer on MLK Day or for other volunteer activities with these and other causes!
Activate Good is a nonprofit volunteer center that activates volunteers to help local causes in our community by connecting individuals, groups, and companies to volunteering needs with partnering nonprofits in Wake County and the surrounding area. To find out more about how you can join us in motivating, educating, empowering, and engaging others to volunteer follow us on Twitter, or like us on Facebook.
