Activate Good News: Announcing Our New Board Members!

Activate Good welcomes new members to our Board of Directors!

Nonprofits rely on their board members to lead them, support the staff, and represent the community they serve. We are honored to announce the addition of a new class of board members! Here’s to people-powered projects for good!! (See all of our board and staff on our Team page, here!)

Austin Dowd

Austin is a Triangle native, a commercial and portrait photographer (check out Austin’s photos HERE!), and an at-home dad with a passion for helping organizations in his community. He currently resides in Cary with his wife and two boys. He founded Triangle Stay At Home Dads, a local community for families where fathers are the primary caregiver and eventually went on to serve on the board of The National At-Home Dad Network, ending his tenure as Board President in 2017.

After experiencing the struggles that organizations face when under-resourced, he joined the Activate Good team to help ensure that they have the people power and resources they need to fulfill their mission. Before becoming an Activate Good board member, Austin worked with several Triangle nonprofits as a volunteer photographer to develop marketing content and images.

Olivia Ecker

In a time like this, everyone wants to do good in an area that they’re really passionate about and I think, no matter the area you’re passionate about right now, Activate Good has a volunteer opporunity to match to that.

Olivia is originally from Pennsylvania and spent 10 years in New York before relocating to North Carolina in 2018. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Manhattanville College and a Master’s in Business Administration from Iona College. She is currently a Global Human Resources Business Partner at United Phosphorus Limited (UPL).

Olivia

Prior to joining the board, Olivia volunteered with Activate Good as a 9/11 Day of Service Volunteer and a Virtual Project Leader for the “Kindness Calls to Seniors” Project during COVID-19. In addition to volunteering with Activate Good, she also volunteers with Raleigh Metro SHRM, Dress for Success Triangle NC, Note in the Pocket, and Haven House. Olivia is excited to utilize her past volunteer and board service experience to become more involved in the Triangle.

Noel Lichtin

Noel has lived in Raleigh for 50 years! In that time, she’s been a board member for many organizations but now focuses only on boards with which she shares a passion. Noel hopes to make a significant contribution and difference in the community. She believes in helping the under-served and changing the lives of people with time, talent, and treasure.

Giving back to the community and helping others who are less fortunate inspires me to offer my time and talent

Mike is originally from New Jersey, and he and his family have called the Triangle home for almost a decade.  He’s an Air Force combat veteran who, as an enlisted aircrew member, participated in operations around the world.  During his time in the service, he learned the importance of giving back, and ever since he has been active in the community.  Currently, he serves as the Founder/C.E.O. of Flagship Wealth Management Group.  Mike is looking forward to being an Activate Good board member and using his skill set to help further improve the community.

Priya Singh

Priya recently relocated from India to the US and has called RTP home since 2016. She works as a Technology Architect and engages in a complex mesh of hobbies during her spare time, including volunteering, hiking, gardening, theatre, public speaking, trying new recipes, and more! She loves exploring new state and national parks every chance she gets.
