Students at the WELL sign up for tutoring. What we offer depends on the volunteers we can recruit!
Sep 25, 2017, 2:30pm - May 4, 2018, 7pm
You can mean the difference in a student passing or failing their class. Our tutors do not have to be certified teachers. But, you do need to be comfortable enough with the material to guide a student's understanding. You tell us the subject and your availability, and then we try to match it up with requests.
Students will bring in tests to be reviewed, projects to get help on, study guides to go over, or homework to get help completing. You are not "teaching" material - you are helping students understand. We have plenty of resources to offer as well - textbooks for certain classes, teacher syllabuses, etc.
It's really more about the relationship you develop. We ask that our tutors commit to a minimum of 1 semester. Once our students have appointments, they generally don't give them up.
Tutoring is done at the WELL Monday - Wednesday 2:30 - 7 p.m. and on Thursday, 2;30 - 6 p.m. You tell us when you are available, we take care of the rest.
Parking is available at the WELL behind our building.
