Sort it Out at TROSA Thrift Store

Triangle Residential Options for Substance Abusers

What You'll Do:

Help sort donations that will be used by the TROSA program or sold in the thrift store in order to support the program. TROSA is a residential treatment center for people with substance use disorders, and you will volunteer alongside people in the program.

Appropriate for group service projects

Must be 18 years or older, or 14 years or older with parental supervision

Volunteers may work to sort bins of incoming donations into different categories (clothing, housewares, electronics, etc), or may work within a specific area such as clothing or housewares to help further sort, clean, and price items so that they are ready for sale.

TROSA is a nonprofit that helps people with substance use disorders become productive citizens. The thrift store also helps the environment through creative reuse and diverting items from waste streams. Today's volunteers will help sort over 100 bins of items, providing an average of $200 in value for each bin sorted and put out for sale. It costs about $75 to provide a full day of services for each TROSA resident.

Please come inside to check in at the cash registers with Kimberly Connolly or another manager on duty.

Please bring your waiver. Closed-toe shoes are required. Please wear clothes that can get dirty. Face masks are suggested for those sensitive to allergens/dust.
