Day of the Dead 5k Race Volunteers

Historic Oakwood Cemetery

What You'll Do:

Oakwood Cemetery again hosts part of the route for the Day of the Dead 5k! We need water station volunteers and route volunteers to make sure the runners follow the correct route inside the Cemetery!

Must be 18 years or older, or 13 years or older with parental supervision

The Day of the Dead is a holiday where the impermanence of life is celebrated with some of the most comforting things in life; friends, flowers, and food. At Centro and Oakwood Cemetery we love to celebrate this holiday because it allows us to remember our loved ones by doing what we do best, building community through tradition.

At Oakwood, we host an Ofrenda on our grounds for the week and the race runs through the Cemetery! We love being a part of this tradition.

Volunteers are welcome to dress up to CELEBRATE the Day of the Dead and honor those that came before. We need water station volunteers and volunteers at each turn in the race! Plus, we just want you to help share the love and cheer on the runners -- it can get awful quiet in the cemetery!
