What You'll Do:
Culture bearers volunteer to share their knowledge of African diasporic musical practices and/or traditions with youth in our programs during scheduled BUMP Village Days or during Global Griot Summer Music Retreat.Requirements:
Appropriate for group service projects
Must be 18 years or older

Culture Bearers are individuals steeped in the culture and or heritage of African diasporic musical practices and/or traditions. Examples include HBCU band/choir members/alumni; Gospel instrumentalist/singers; Jazz/Blues instrumentalist/singers, Capoistas, African Drummers; African dancers; Folk musicians, storytellers, African-American Art song, Rappers, Spoken word artists, Hip-hop DJ’s & Turntableist, Afro-latin percussionists, Afro-latin dancers… I can’t possibly complete this list:) Culture bearers volunteer to share their knowledge and experience with youth in our programs during scheduled BUMP Village Days or during Global Griot Summer Music Retreat. Culture bearers can also work with youth individually or in small groups who wish to experience or specialize more intimately in their cultural practices.| Date/Time: | Volunteers Needed: | |
