Details:

The goal of our Student Leadership Program (Teen Board and Ambassadors) is to inspire students to be a voice in their schools and communities and help us to expand our program by obtaining new volunteers, high quality, school appropriate clothing, and financial support. By speaking up for those in need, we also hope to expand the heart of service already present in those who participate. Students expand on and put into practice what they learn through a variety of projects that Advisors oversee, including: clothing drives, group presentations about Note, social media sharing, fundraising, grant research, etc.

Advisors are members of the community that have a vested interest in preparing the next generation of leaders. Advisors are paired with an Ambassador (Wake County high school student). We ask that Ambassadors and Advisors connect (in-person or virtually) once a month to discuss the student's projects. The Ambassador, with guidance from the Advisor, will prepare their annual project plan that outlines how they will accomplish assigned projects in hosting clothing drives, supporting fundraising events, and volunteering with Note in the Pocket.

Advisors should meet with their Ambassadors during a scheduled monthly check-in to discuss plans and progress, though more frequent communication is encouraged as needed. Advisor time commitment: typically 1-2 hours/month.
