Student Leader Mentor

Note in the Pocket

What You'll Do:

Are you looking to support our next generation of community leaders? Note in the Pocket is looking for passionate adults with leadership skills, patience, and a little bit of time each month to serve as a Mentor for high-school students through our Teen Board Student Leadership Program.

Must be 18 years or older

Additional Requirements:

Mentors are required to complete background checks.

The goal of our Student Leadership Program (Teen Board and Ambassadors) is to inspire students to be a voice in their schools and communities and help us to expand our program by obtaining new volunteers, high quality, school appropriate clothing, and financial support. By speaking up for those in need, we also hope to expand the heart of service already present in those who participate. Students expand on and put into practice what they learn through a variety of projects that the Mentor oversees, including: clothing drives, group presentations about Note, social media sharing, fundraising, grant research, etc.

The Teen Board is comprised of 60 students. They are organized into groups of 5-6 students and each group is paired with a Mentor. Mentors are members of the community that have an interest in supporting the next generation of leaders.

The Teen Board meets the 1st Sunday of every month (between September 2021-May 2022). This year's program will be a mix of in-person and virtual meetings. Mentors are required to attend these monthly meetings and will lead small breakout sessions with their group of students. During the meeting, Mentors will discuss project plans with their students.

Mentor time commitment: typically 3-4 hours/month.

No location specified.
