Details:

Winter is tree planting time! We’ll plant a variety of tree and shrub seedlings on Tar River Land Conservancy-owned conservation properties near the towns of Butner and Stem in Granville County. Seedlings will be planted near streams to protect drinking water supplied by Lake Holt and Falls Lake. No previous experience is necessary. TRLC staff will provide instruction on proper tree planting techniques. Tree planting holes are pre-dug for ease of planting and to allow roots room to grow in the spring. We’ll park in a grass field at the event location. Then we’ll walk or shuttle folks to and from the tree planting areas.

Impact Statement:

Please help Tar River Land Conservancy meet our goal of reforesting 4.6 acres this winter! Help us convert these old agricultural fields to diverse hardwood forest to filter runoff, improve wildlife habitat, and benefit the planet!
