It is our responsibility as parents, mentors, and community leaders, to create an environment which enables that success for those with whom we live and work.  We must help each individual create a picture of what success looks like for them and equip them to achieve.

This is especially true for our kids.

In the summer of 2016, I was looking for a way to give back to our community.  I was in a position on my life’s journey where I thought I could use what I had learned to bring value to an organization.  I began my search online. I was immediately drawn to Activate Good because of their focus on the local community and their ability to link people and organizations together.

On the Activate Good website I found an opportunity with the Helps Education Fund, an organization that collaborates with school-based professionals to bring research-supported materials to educators and parents.  Helps Education Fund does excellent work to provide resources to assist those children who could otherwise be left behind.

As I spoke with the leaders of the organization and learned more about the programs, I felt the role was a great fit for my passion, skills, and experience.  I was fortunate to join the Board of Helps Education Fund in January of 2017. This experience has had a positive impact on me and continues to be very rewarding by giving me an opportunity to participate with an organization that is making a difference.  I am very thankful for the opportunity to work with the excellent team of leaders of Helps Education Fund.
