Activate Raleigh: Sweat, Blood and... Food

Activate Raleigh: Sweat, Blood and… Food

While volunteering is a major theme for the 9/11 day of service, Activate Raleigh, we wanted to let you know about a few other ways you can give back that day (and leading up to it, too):

Give Blood

Capital Bank, one of the Activate Raleigh event corporate sponsors, is hosting a blood drive for the Triangle Area Red Cross on September 11 between 10 AM and 2:30 PM. You can make an appointment to give blood on the Red Cross site.

Donate Food

Leading up to Tuesday, September 11, Hibernian Pub is hosting a food drive to fill up the food pantry at Urban Ministries of Wake County! You can drop off any of the items on theĀ  needed food list at Hibernian Pub in Raleigh or Cary or at Solas during their normal business hours. Icing on the cake? If you donate more than 6 items, they’ll give you 10% off your meal:

So if you can’t make it out to volunteer on Tuesday, September 11, or you’re just feeling extra do-goodery, we hope you’ll consider contributing in these ways too!
