Volunteers Needed: 10

This project is best for: Individual teens or adults

Estimated Time Commitment in April 2021: 1-3 hours per article

Skills Needed:  Research, Writing, Editing

What You’ll Do: Volunteers will research a topic (or topics!) related to a cause of their choosing to create educational articles to add to the Triangle Cause Wiki, a community knowledge base to help share information about causes and challenges that Triangle community members can take action on! (View an example article.)

Article ideas include, but are not limited to: 

  • The Importance of Protecting Pollinators
  • Hurricane Preparedness and Relief
  • The Case for DEI Initiatives
  • Affordable Housing
  • Senior Activism and Access

How This Project Helps: To be the most effective volunteers and community problem solvers we can be, we need to understand the issues our community faces. Through the Triangle Cause Wiki, we hope to be a resource for folks hoping to learn more about causes and how to help!

Deadline to Submit Final Project: We are asking that you complete your Virtual Volunteer-A-Thon projects by April 30, 2021.

Communication: You’ll hear from Activate Good a few times throughout April to make sure you’re all set and on track!

SIGN UP TO ADOPT THIS PROJECT

This project is best for: Individual teens or adults

Estimated Time Commitment in April 2021: 4-6 hours

Skills Needed:  Research

What You’ll Do: Volunteers will identify potential partner organizations that would be interested in providing ComMotion dance and movement programs to their participants. Examples of potential partners include senior communities, cancer centers, military/veteran organizations, schools/youth organizations. Virtual programming can be provided anywhere in the US.  In-person programming can be provided in the Triangle and western NC/upstate SC.

How This Project Helps: This project will help us find partners that can connect us with more seniors, military veterans, cancer survivors, and kids that could benefit from our programs.

Volunteers Needed: 3

This project is best for: Individual teens or adults

Estimated Time Commitment in April 2021: 4-6 hours

Skills Needed:  Research

What You’ll Do: Volunteers will identify potential funding sources for ComMotion programs, including donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities and compile information in an Excel spreadsheet. Target populations of our programs are cancer survivors, military veterans, seniors, and kids.

How This Project Helps:

This project will help us expand our ability to provide services at no cost to participants.

What You’ll Do: Volunteers will gather demographic information and other statistics to illustrate HOPE’s mission.

How This Project Helps: We need to present a market for the community we want to create, so developers, investors, stakeholders will be committed to being involved with our mission.
