What You’ll Do: Volunteers will use photos, videos, and facts/testimonials provided by ComMotion to create a 3-5 minute long promotional video that highlights our programs for potential students, partner organizations, and funding sources.
How This Project Helps: This video will help express the many benefits of our programs, to help encourage participation.

This project is best for: An individual teen or adult, or groups of teens or adults
Estimated Time Commitment in April 2021: 5-15 minutes
Skills Needed: No specific skills required, just a positive attitude and a willingness to brighten someone’s day!
What You’ll Do: Volunteers will record a short video, no longer than 1 minute, that provides words of encouragement and support to lung cancer survivors in celebration of National Cancer Survivor’s Day. Clips from this video will be shared in an inspirational video that we will share with lung cancer survivors at our virtual survivor’s day celebration in June.
How This Project Helps: Lung cancer is the leading cancer killer, claiming more lives each year than breast, prostate, and colorectal cancers combined. With such a high mortality rate, it can be extremely daunting to battle lung cancer. Through your help, we will share a story of hope and inspire others to join the cause to support even more survivors!

What You’ll Do: Volunteers are given access to pictures and graphics to create an educational and inspiring five-minute video about our mission to create a more responsible fashion and textiles industry. We will also have an in-person display up at the Museum of History during April – it would be great to incorporate that as a ‘things we do’. I’d like to add this to our website as part of our About Us page.
How This Project Helps: The textiles industry is one of the biggest polluters in the world. It is also notorious for human rights abuses. We work to educate and activate people to be advocates for positive change in the textiles industry. This display that we have at the Museum in April is a great opportunity for us to reach additional supporters both in person and virtually.

What You’ll Do: JA of Eastern NC is collecting videos from volunteers on a rolling basis to add to our video resource library on YouTube for middle and high school educators to share with students. We need a volunteer to add a title card to our volunteer videos currently on YouTube!
How This Project Helps: These JA Volunteer videos help students connect work, interests, skills, educational path, and the functioning of the community they live in.

Skills Needed: We’re looking for folks who read aloud with enthusiasm and emotion to keep kids engaged!
What You’ll Do: Volunteers for this project will film themselves as they read a story for elementary-aged children for the Boys and Girls Club to share with families!
How This Project Helps: Video reading projects like this help clients as they follow along and strengthen their literacy skills! Submitted videos will be shared to Club Directors, and publicly on our social media pages.

Skills Needed: Videoediting and interviewing skills; video may be created using phone or camera (does not need to be professional grade)
What You’ll Do: Volunteers for this project will be connected to a veteran and service dog for an interview, and afterwards create a short 3 minute video about Vets to Vets and their work!
How This Project Helps: This video will help Vets to Vets United plant more seeds about the role that rescue animals can play in helping Veterans suffering from emotional and/or physical disabilities. The video will also bring awareness to the public about the sacrifices that Veterans have made for us and the importance of rescuing animals at our shelters.
