Volunteers Needed: 10

This project is best for: An individual adult or teen

Estimated Time Commitment in April 2021: Less than an hour

What You’ll Do: Volunteers will research and write 1 blog article about issues facing a person in poverty. Blogs topics can be broad and give a big picture view of the issue, or very specific in looking at a specific part of poverty. Blogs should be at least 300 words but no more than 1,500 words.

How This Project Helps: One of our biggest initiatives is community education and building community empathy. There is so much shame and judgement around poverty that cause many people to dismiss the issue as a personal character flaw rather than a series of unfortunate external circumstances. By educating the community, we help people step away from fear and shame, and towards empathy and community. Our education also helps us build partnerships so we can help more people.
