Dignity Week + MLK Day

MLK Day of Service & Dignity Week

Support our community through an extended week of service

This Year's Event

In 2023, the Activate Good community is observing Dignity Week from Friday, January 13th through Sunday, January 22nd. This extended week of service features opportunities for locals to volunteer and focus on opportunities that meet education and basic needs for people and the planet. During this time is also the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service on Monday, January 16th.

About This Event

According to a recent national study, 44% of surveyed Americans say being “unsure how to get involved” is a top barrier to volunteering. (Points of Light 2020)

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is the only U.S. federal holiday designated as a day of service. While formally this is held on the third Monday of every January, some years Activate Good extends this into a weekend or week-long event focusing on addressing needs to support human dignity.  We call this Dignity Week – it depends on the year and the opportunities our Community Partners have!

Stay tuned for the latest MLK and Dignity Week service opportunities by following us on social media, joining our newsletter, and checking out postings here!
