Activate Good Celebrates National Volunteer Week with Five Community Projects Across the Triangle
March 20, 2026

National Volunteer Week – April 19-25 – is a time to recognize the people who step up to strengthen their communities.

This year, Activate Good is marking the occasion by hosting five volunteer projects across the Triangle, partnering with local nonprofits to support important work happening right now.

From preparing supplies for community programs to helping nonprofits tackle projects that expand their reach, these opportunities give individuals, families, and businesses a simple way to take action during a week dedicated to community impact.

National Volunteer Week also highlights something bigger: volunteering is no longer just a nice thing to do. For many nonprofits and schools, volunteers are an essential part of how programs operate and how services reach the people who need them.

Across the Triangle, organizations are working to meet growing needs with limited staff and resources. Volunteers help fill those gaps, and Activate Good plays a central role in making those connections possible.

As a catalyst for volunteerism in the region, Activate Good helps power the network of community support that nonprofits and schools rely on. The organization works year-round to connect individuals, families, and businesses with meaningful opportunities to step in and help.

In 2025 alone, Activate Good helped create more than 34,000 volunteer connections across the Triangle. Those connections supported a growing network of more than 550 active community partners, including nonprofits and schools that depend on volunteers to expand their impact.

By serving as a trusted hub for volunteer engagement, Activate Good helps ensure that people who want to help can quickly find a place where their time and skills are needed.

“Nonprofits and schools across the Triangle are doing incredible work, but many rely on volunteers to make their programs possible. “Our role is to help connect the community to those needs and make it easy for people to step in and make a difference.”

Rose Thompson

Executive Director, Activate Good

Activate Good’s projects during the week are designed to make participation easy and meaningful, while supporting nonprofits and schools that depend on volunteers to carry out their missions. By organizing these opportunities and working closely with community partners, Activate Good helps remove the barriers that often prevent people from getting involved.

The result is a ripple effect across the community. When volunteers support one organization, they help strengthen the broader network of nonprofits and schools serving the Triangle.

Community members interested in participating in National Volunteer Week can learn more and sign up for projects through the Activate Good website.

At its core, National Volunteer Week is a reminder that community change starts with people who are willing to take action. Through its partnerships and volunteer opportunities, Activate Good helps turn that willingness into real impact across the Triangle.

Because when people are connected to the right opportunities, small acts of service can create lasting change.
